PROGRAMS

Below is a brief overview of our summer camp program options. Please check out our brochure for more information including dates and fees.

DAY CAMP

Our Day Camp program offers the opportunity for campers to join us for the day to participate in many of our great activities. Participants must register for a full week and bring their own lunch and snacks. A BBQ lunch will be provided for all Day Campers on Friday. Bussing is available from Stony Plain at an additional cost. Alternatively, participants can be dropped off and picked up daily.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

EXPLORERS

An introductory program for our youngest campers, Explorers are led through a variety of camp activities under the guidance of experienced staff members. We strive to ensure that campers have a great camp experience, setting them up for a life-long love of nature and outdoor activity. We offer a higher ratio of staff to campers for this younger group.

DISCOVERERS

Our Discoverers can expect to learn skills in activities such as archery, canoeing, challenge course elements, swimming, and hiking, among others. Camp-wide games, nightly campfires, and out-trip on Wednesday night are also featured throughout the week. Through these experiences, Discoverers develop a sense of independence, foster an appreciation for the outdoors, and return home with a week full of great memories.

DISCOVERERS YURT LIVING

Discoverers who choose the Yurt Living program participate in the regular Discoverers program as described above, but live in our yurt! This is a chance for older Discoverers to have a unique experience while still enjoying their favorite outdoor activities. Discoverers Yurt Living does not go on an out-trip and are the only group that gets to try the Natural Sauna!

PROSPECTORS

Our Prospectors program is designed for campers to challenge themselves during a wide variety of activities with the encouragement of their peers and guidance from their counsellors. They will have opportunities to try the most advanced elements of our high ropes course, go on an overnight out-trip, and enjoy many other traditional camp activities. Aspects of self-reflection through journaling and mindfulness will help Prospectors make the most of their experiences at camp. Campers in this program stay in the Hilltop Cabins, allowing for a more independent camp experience.

VOYAGEURS

Our Voyageurs program gives veteran campers and new campers alike a longer experience with 12 days of adventure and the opportunity to build stronger connections. Participants will enjoy programming such as our static course, an in-depth canoe lesson, and self-reflection through journaling and mindfulness, all while developing friendships and learning new skills. Voyageurs will use the skills they learn on a multi-night out-trip. Campers in this program stay in the Hilltop Cabins.

COUNSELLORS IN TRAINING (CIT)

Our Counsellor In Training (CIT) programs returns in 2022! Participants spend their time preparing to lead children in the outdoors. The first week is a close mirror to our summer staff training, with additional information sessions around problem solving, behaviour management, and communications. The first weekend will be spent obtaining a standard first aid and CPR certification. The second week is the spent shadowing our experienced Counsellors for the first few days and experiencing different programs from a staff perspective. The second half of the week is spent bonding and reflecting as a group during a multi-day hike out trip. The final week is a complete shadow experience, working with one group the entire week and implementing lessons learned from the first two weeks of the program.
